Basic anatomy and neuroendocrine pathway of the Pituitary gland

The Pituatary gland, which may be a generally little anatomical structure that's arranged deep within the head, at the base of the cranium, profound within the pit of the sphenoid bone, is encompassed by the optic chiasm, blood vessels, and other critical brain structures. It comprises of the bigger portion (80% of the PG estimate) called front pituitary flap (adenohypophysis), halfway projection, and back pituitary flap (or neurohypophysis), associated to the hypothalamus by the pituitary stalk.
